The story

I'm not gone yet is a short coming-of-age film and follows Hilde. Hilde is 23 and has been living out of the place for four years where she is overwhelmed with the idea of never coming back. Little Hilde was always on her toes with Ruben's family, a stark contrast to what they expected at home. Hilde was happy with her and Hilde wanted to bring her back home. When Rubens' father comes to die, Hilde orders her to go back to the village where she is buried for her countess. Everyone has sworn for four years not to do this anymore. Hilde is reminded of many good memories, but she is also confronted with some traumatic memories and has to face up to some things that she has been repressing for years. While visiting, she gets into a deep conversation with Ruben in the evening about what it means to be happy and to be saved in the place where she is. Does it really hurt to hug her like that?
I'm not gone yet is a misunderstanding of friendship, self-covering and the fight against inner demons. The film shows that accepting the loss and embracing who we are can be the key to happiness.
